1. Sambrani Kodi.
Situated on the southern tip of ashtamudi lake, sambranikodi is a picturesque island that invites you to experience the virgin beauty of God’s Own Country. It is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Kollam city.

2. Tangassery lighthouse.
The Tangasseri Light House boasts of being the second tallest on the entire coast of Kerala and is thus one of the most visited lighthouses in the state on this account. Located at Tangasseri in the city of Kollam, it is one of the locations in India that still maintains an Anglo-Indian culture.
The majestic tower is visible and distinct, with its painted red and white oblique bands, and looks pretty indeed in all its glory and majesty. The tower has a total height of 41 meters, or 135 feet, and has been operational since the year 1902. The journey starts with a climb of 200 steps to the double balcony which provides us with a breathtaking view of Kollam and the Arabian sea. One can also make use of the lift that has been installed recently.
3. Sasthamcotta lake.
Also known as the queen of lakes it is the largest freshwater lake in Kerala. It is situated in the middle of small hills providing visitors with breathtaking views. The lake is named after the ancient Sastha temple located on its bank. It is also categorized as a wetland. It has always been a center of tourist activity. One can find friendly monkeys on its premises that are considered divine entities by the locals. Dedicated to both Lord Ganesha and Lord Ayyappa, the monkeys are believed to be the faithful entourage of the ruling deity, the Dharmasastha. People love coming and feeding these animals, along with soaking in the spiritual ambiance of the place. Activities available include Canopy ride through the lake which allows visitors to click a lot of photos with scenic backgrounds.
4. Munroe island.
Munroe Island or Mundrothuruthu is an inland island group located at the confluence of Ashtamudi Lake and the Kallada River, in Kollam district, Kerala. It is a group of eight small islands comprising a total area of about 13.4 km. It is an offbeat tourist destination that you will want to visit if you want to experience the village-life of Malayalis and enjoy the backwaters with fewer crowds. It is an ideal place to experience a canal cruise.
5. Thirumullavaram Beach.
Thirumullavaram Beach is one of the popular beaches in the city of Kollam and a tourist destination in the state of Kerala. The beach is situated at Thirumullavaram, an important neighborhood of Kollam city. The beach is very famous for conducting the Karkidaka Vavubali rituals. It is an ideal place to spend a calm and serene evening. The coconut trees around the breach provide a cool and shady environment.
6. Neendakara Harbour.
Neendakara is a major fishing harbor located 8 km from Kollam. It is a twin harbor combined with the Sakthikulangara harbor as well. This major seaport biggest in the region with a capacity to hold over 500 fishing boats at a time. From Neendakara Bridge, one gets a beautiful vantage point to view the confluence of the Ashtamudi lake and the sea. As the sun sets, let the breeze and the Chinese fishing nets help you cool off and welcome in the darkening sky. It is a wonderful way to soak in the final visuals of the day.
